Storage Driver

Storage Driver For Battery Operated Product

The Challenge

We were contracted to develop a storage driver for a battery operated product. In the field, each device can take weeks to fill and be emptied. The client required filling and emptying the product to be fully tested.

Delivered

We chose a test-driven development approach where we simulated all storage on a desktop computer. This allowed us to fill the simulated storage device without waiting weeks to generate data. We were able to verify the performance of this reduced filesystem without having either hardware in hand or requiring weeks of in-the-field testing. When the hardware did arrive, the chip drivers were verified and the product successfully underwent field trials.
